OUR STORY The cosinee that guests find in our Chalés das Margaridas has to do with a story of affection for a person and a place. The person: Margarida, matriarch of the family, now 99 years old and in a good mood. The place: the quiet Ibicaraí, a city in the south of Bahia, where one of our partners, the architect and designer Rosanna Silveira, lived her childhood. The icing on the cake is the look for details and the talent for management, design and social media of young architect Raíssa Silveira, 29, daughter of Rosanna, and partners in all professional projects. While one stays longer in Vale do Capão, the other alternates her routine between visits to Chapada at times of greater flow of visitors and managing business in Salvador. But the story begins in a girl's dream, influenced by a cousin, who had a similar project, the architect Rosanna Silveira was encouraged to acquire land in the place. It was love at first sight when she met Vale do Capão. There she saw the possibility of fulfilling the dream of a lifetime: leaving the stress of Salvador for an activity capable of bringing her slow life back to when she was 12 years old in the heartland. Saved up some money, courage and had the unique partnership of her architect daughter to endeavour. As they did years ago when they created RR Arquitetas, they got down to business and there is Chalés das Margaridas, a place that revives the best childhood memories of a woman from a peaceful heartland.

You will be enchanted by the peaceful scenario, with a mountain view and will enjoy the pleasure of watching the sunrise every morning. The love recipe of our story are all around here. From the handmade stools made by our partners, mother and daughter, to the breakfast served in the kiosk, facing the mountains. Here, everything reminds the love memory that inspired our inn's name, a tribute to our 99-year-old matriarch. Margarida, mother of our partner Rosanna Silveira, lived a part of her life in heartland cities , but now, although rather living in the capital, keeps producing the typical grandma recipes. In the rooms, the inn combines the peaceful camp life, keeping in mind that comfort is essencial. You can be surprised with the sunrise in the mountains and go for an early walk to the waterfalls with nothing to worry about. The cool weather in the mountains will make you forget that you're in one of the hottest regions of Brazil. This national ecotourism provides the visitors enjoying the beauties around and it is also located in a strategic area, close to famous touristic spots such as Vale do Pati and Cachoeira da Fumaça. The region is surrounded by the Chapada Diamantina National Park, a territory of 152,000 hectares of wildlife. The average weather is 19°C and makes the place even more special. The cool nights sparkled in stars contrast with the day's blue sky. The spot has stunning views such as Morro do Pai Inácio, Morro do Camelo and Morrão - Monte Tabor, prehistoric rocks. The peace and love enviroment made Vale do Capão become a destination for those connected with esoteric and nature causes. Between the 60s and 70s, young hippie people moved to the region. The feeling of “make love, not war” still attracts people from the cities who want to cool down. Going to the village by car or simply walking the 1600 meters far from the Chalés das Margaridas is a good morning hangout. There you can find souvenir stores, a street market with organic and family farming products and an amazing and diverse local gastronomy. Don't forget to eat the vegan pizza and the jackfruit palm fried pastry, they might even surprise the non vegs. Staying in Vale do Capão allows you to enjoy the main trails of Chapada Diamantina: Vale do Pati, Andaraí, Lençóis, Mucugê, Cachoeira da Fumaça, and many others. Cachoeira da Fumaça is one of the most visited in the region. With about 5 km, it starts in the village of Campos and heads up the mountain range, until reaches the Fumaça river. It's a two-hour journey, with one hour of steep climb. The waterfall is about 380 m high in the summit and there, the photo shoot won't ever replace the view. Cachoeira da Fumaça One of the highests waterfalls in Brazil, with 400 m, it's one of the main attractions in Chapada Morrão and Águas Claras Morrão is one of the grandest mountains in Chapada, and Águas Claras is a small crystal clear waterfall with a well to bathe in Angelica It is a deep well, and a waterfall that is only small in size, but stunning in the volume of water Riachinho About 3.5 km from the inn, Riachinho is famous for its big wall with beautiful waterfalls and cascades Purificação Beautiful waterfalls and was named so for its power of purification Rio Preto There you find a 4 meters waterfall and a natural pool of dark reddish color with almost 50 meters in length.
